Land your first tech role with help from someone who did the hiring.
I've hired engineers, sales and marketing people, co-op students and new grads at tech companies. Now I coach new grads through the same process from the other side of the table, plus an AI coach built on the rules I used to screen.
Applying harder isn't working.
- Recruiters now get about 291 applications per hire, up from about 100 in 2021.
- Most of those applications are AI-written and sound the same. Many recruiters screen them out.
- Youth unemployment in Canada hit 14.7% in September 2025, the highest September since 2010 outside the pandemic.

The grads who get hired go around the pile: a sharp one-page resume, a short list of target companies, and real conversations with the people who hire. That's what I teach.
Pick your track.
Engineering: software, data, QA, DevOps, hardware. Go-to-market: sales, SDR/BDR, marketing, customer success, ops.

Plus an AI coach that reads like I do.
Between sessions, you get the First Tech Role Coach. It's built on the same rules I used to screen 125+ hires. Use it to check your resume against a recruiter's pet peeves, tailor it to a job, draft outreach and practise interviews. It suggests edits and you write the final words, because recruiters can spot AI-written applications.
- A 10-second scan verdict on your resume
- Outreach drafts: cold emails, LinkedIn notes, video and voice-note scripts
- Mock interviews with feedback after every answer
- A weekly plan sized to your hours
About me.
I'm Abdullah Hashemi, CHRL. I've made 125+ hires for tech companies: as Senior Talent Acquisition Partner at Replicant, leading talent at YoppWorks, where I built the co-op program, and since 2023 through my own HR firm. That includes engineers, go-to-market roles, co-op students and new grads from Waterloo, UofT, uOttawa and Carleton.
I also founded an AI recruiting startup, so I know how AI screens your application. I mentor student founders as a Start-up Advisor at Carleton University and hold a Master's in Industrial Relations and Human Resources from UofT.
Is this for you?
- For you if
- You're graduating this year or graduated in the last 2 years, you want a role at a tech company, and you'll put in real hours each week.
- Not for you if
- You want someone to apply for you, or you want a guarantee. Nobody honest can guarantee a job.
Questions.
- Isn't my campus career centre free?
- Yes, and use it. This is different: small groups or 1:1 time with someone who ran hiring, plus mock interviews with real hiring managers.
- How many hours a week?
- Graduates: treat it like a part-time job, 20 to 25 hours. Students in school: about 5 hours during term, more from March.
- Can I pay over time?
- Yes. The cohort is 3 payments of $260, and 1:1 is 2 payments of $1,000. Start with the $249 Starter and it's credited in full if you upgrade within 30 days.
- Can my parents pay?
- Yes. Many do. With your permission, they can get a short weekly progress note.
- Do you get paid by employers?
- No. This is coaching, not recruiting. When there's a genuine fit, I make warm introductions for free, and never for a fee.
